Whale and Dolphin Conservation

Whale and Dolphin Conservation, WDC, is a charity dedicated to the protection of whales and dolphins.

It works globally through campaigns, lobbying, advising governments, conservation projects, field research, rescue and education. It operates at international meetings and across many seas and oceans, with offices in the UK, North America, Germany and Australia. It also runs the Scottish Dolphin Centre, a visitor centre on the Moray Firth offering wildlife tours and education about the marine environment.

The organisation was established in the UK in 1987, originally as the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, and its headquarters are in Chippenham, Wiltshire. It is a partner of the Convention on Migratory Species, part of the United Nations Environment Programme, and it develops regional protection agreements and conventions. It works closely with the orca research station OrcaLab in British Columbia, Canada.
