Description

Jewish Voice for Peace is an American Jewish organization that organizes a grassroots movement of U.S. Jews in solidarity with the Palestinian freedom struggle.

It was founded in 1996 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley. It describes itself as anti-Zionist and works for justice, equality and dignity for all people, including an end to Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories.

It supports the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel and calls for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. It organizes protests, rallies and acts of civil disobedience, and pushes the U.S. government to change its policy toward Israel and Palestine.

It runs a network of local chapters across the United States, along with an academic council, a rabbinical council and a health advisory council. It publishes a weekly newsletter of news and analysis on Palestine and the solidarity movement, and produces statements and educational writing.
