Description

Generation Climate Europe is a coalition of major European youth organizations advocating for stronger climate action from European institutions.

It creates spaces for young people to take part in European political decision-making, since youth are underrepresented in political institutions. It builds connections with youth organizations, their members and local youth-led groups across Europe to mobilize broad support for climate action. Its flagship project, the Youth Climate Dialogues, brings young people together with EU institutions, including a Council Presidency Youth Dialogue and a European Parliament Youth Dialogue. It also runs projects on funding fairer futures for the climate movement and on informing young voters ahead of European elections.

Its teams work on biodiversity, circular economy, clean mobility, just transition and new economy, monitoring EU policy processes in each area. They respond to public consultations, meet decision-makers, write reports and campaign to influence policy toward a just green transition. The coalition was launched in September 2019 by youth activists including Nathan Meteneir, with founding members FIMCAP Europe, ESU, YEE, CliMates and AEGEE.
