Zero Emission Resource Organisation
Description
ZERO, the Zero Emission Resource Organisation, is an independent, non-profit Norwegian environmental foundation working on the climate cause.
It aims to drive forward zero-emission solutions and discourage investments in solutions that cause emissions, taking a knowledge-based and analytical approach to climate policy. Its main issues include electric vehicles, carbon capture and storage, renewable energy, electrification of offshore installations, climate-friendly buildings and fossil-free plastic. It works through dialogue and partnerships with businesses, industry and public bodies across sectors, while deciding for itself what it takes a position on. It also holds an annual climate conference in Oslo.
It was founded in 2002 by former activists and employees of Natur og Ungdom and Bellona. It is politically independent and takes no consultancy assignments. Funding comes mostly from businesses, along with foundations, support schemes and public grants.
