Yesh Din

Description

Yesh Din is an Israeli non-profit organization that works to protect the human rights of Palestinians living under Israeli military occupation in the West Bank.

It documents, collects and shares reliable information about systematic human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. It works on individual cases to support people whose rights were violated, and uses the pattern of these cases to identify structural violations and push for change. It carries out public and legal advocacy to pressure Israeli authorities to protect Palestinians and their rights.

The organization focuses on three areas: law enforcement against Israeli settlers and civilians who harm Palestinians, criminal accountability of Israeli security forces in the West Bank, and violations linked to the takeover of Palestinian land and restricted access to it. Volunteers collect testimonies and accompany Palestinians to file complaints with police, while lawyers follow investigations and file petitions with courts, including Israel’s Supreme Court.

Yesh Din was founded in 2005 and is registered as a non-profit in Israel. It is served by a volunteer corps and a professional staff of lawyers and human rights experts, and it does not accept donations from Israeli or Palestinian government bodies to preserve its independence.
