Human Rights Organizations United Kingdom

Description

The AIRE Centre, whose name stands for Advice on Individual Rights in Europe, is an English registered charity based in London.

It gives free legal advice on human rights and European Union law across Europe, working from offices in London. It advises individuals directly, and it supports other lawyers and advisers in the voluntary sector who handle these cases. It takes strategic cases to the European Court of Human Rights and carries out training, workshops and reports on European human rights law.

Nuala Mole, a human rights lawyer, founded the AIRE Centre in 1993. Since then it has advised thousands of people on their rights under European Union law and the European Convention on Human Rights, and it continues to help vulnerable people and UK nationals living elsewhere in Europe secure their legal status.
