Wild Asia

Description

Wild Asia is a Malaysian social enterprise dedicated to nature-positive agriculture and inclusive supply chains. It was founded in 2003, growing out of a website started in 1998 by Dr. Reza Azmi to promote sustainable tourism in Sabah, Borneo. It is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and structured as a non-profit company.

The organization works with smallholder farmers, mills and corporations across Asia to show that crops such as palm oil can be produced in ways that regenerate ecosystems, strengthen rural livelihoods and meet global sustainability goals. It provides farmers with practical tools, training and regenerative methods that improve soil health and reduce costs. It also connects mills, traders and brands to smallholders to build inclusive and sustainable supply chains, and it builds regional networks across ASEAN to help proven solutions replicate at scale.

Wild Asia also works on turning farms into verified carbon sinks through nature-based monitoring, and it has piloted regenerative design projects that combine local building traditions with renewable energy and circular-economy principles. It promotes responsible and sustainable tourism practices that conserve biodiversity and support local communities. It was an early pioneer of sustainability standards and certification models for independent producers in the region.
