Transparency International Belgium is the Belgian chapter of Transparency International, the global anti-corruption movement present in over one hundred countries. The movement’s secretariat is based in Berlin and works closely with each national chapter. Transparency International Belgium was founded in 1999. It promotes integrity and transparency in the public and private sectors in Belgium through advocacy, research and public awareness campaigns, aiming to strengthen accountability, improve governance and build a more just society.

Its work rests on three pillars: advocacy, education and research. It advocates for stronger anti-corruption legislation and policies by engaging policymakers and other stakeholders. It conducts research and publishes reports exposing corruption risks and vulnerabilities across sectors. It also runs public awareness campaigns and evidence-based training for various stakeholders to help prevent and stop corruption.

Its stated goals include protecting public resources and stopping the flow of dirty money. It also aims to ensure integrity in politics and business, pursue law enforcement and justice, and expand civic space for accountability. It works to develop community leadership against corruption, in line with the broader Transparency International movement. Because Belgian companies and the Belgian government are active internationally, the organisation says its anti-corruption efforts also affect policy beyond Belgium.

Under its 2025-2029 strategic plan, it focuses on strengthening integrity and transparency in the business and public sectors, improving legislation, and raising public awareness of integrity. It also aims to safeguard its own long-term sustainability. It operates as a non-profit association that receives no public funding and relies on individual donations and members. It also engages businesses through a Business Integrity Forum and runs a student network with universities.
