Description

The Signals Network is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization that supports whistleblowers and the journalists who work with their sources. It aims to hold governmental and corporate power accountable. It does this by helping workers understand their rights and by protecting and supporting a selected group of whistleblowers through their long journey after coming forward.

The organization offers in-house legal representation and policy analysis, and can help a whistleblower find outside legal counsel. It provides access to individualized mental health support and counseling. It works with security specialists to strengthen whistleblowers’ digital and physical safety.

It manages media relations for whistleblowers, helping shape their messaging and share their stories to drive policy change. Through its Whistleblower Protection Fund, it offers grants covering legal, medical and other expenses. It assists whistleblowers with the transition afterward, including help finding employment, fellowships or business opportunities.

It also advocates for stronger whistleblower protection laws and supports whistleblowers who wish to push for policy changes related to what they disclosed. Communications with clients seeking legal advice are treated as subject to attorney-client privilege.
