Whistleblower Organizations

Description

Climate Whistleblowers is an organisation that supports people who come forward with information about wrongdoing linked to climate and the environment. It is registered in France as an association under the 1901 law. It is based in Paris.

Its board is chaired by Anna Myers, founding Executive Director of the Whistleblowing International Network. The board includes researchers and lawyers working on climate, energy and corporate accountability. Among them are staff and advisors connected to organisations such as ARIA, Sherpa, Greenpeace France and the Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa.

The organisation is led by two co-directors. One of them also directs programmes at the Platform to Protect Whistleblowers in Africa. Its staff includes a programme manager, a project officer, a communication officer, and a chief operations officer. It also has a director of investigations, a journalist with two decades of experience covering Africa, and a legal advisor who provides legal support to climate whistleblowers and works on strategic legal casework arising from their disclosures.

Its advisory board draws on climate scientists, corporate-accountability researchers, economists, lawyers and campaigners, including specialists in whistleblower protection and human rights. Climate Whistleblowers lists The Signals Network among its partners. Through its board, staff and advisory board, the organisation combines legal support, investigation, advocacy and communication. This work aims to protect and assist people who blow the whistle on climate-related and environmental wrongdoing.
