The Reporters' Collective
Description
The Reporters’ Collective is a deep-dive journalism collaborative based in New Delhi, India. It reports on issues of public interest, particularly how India’s political economy and governance function. It was formed by a group of like-minded journalists who came together to collaborate on stories that put the spotlight on those in power, at a time when they found the space for such collaborative journalism shrinking.
The collective works closely with other news organisations to produce its reporting in different mediums and in multiple languages. It runs a TRC Investigative Fellowship that offers grants, including a Rs. 1 Lakh grant, to support investigative reporting. It lists grantees alongside its core members, associate members, interns and collaborators.
Its work has received institutional financial support from the Independent and Public Spirited Media Foundation, IPSMF, for reporting and publishing stories of public interest. IPSMF states it holds no legal or moral responsibility for the content the collective publishes. The organisation also runs projects such as Polychrome and the Electoral Roll Project, and produces videos and podcasts.
