The Conservation Volunteers

The Conservation Volunteers, known as TCV, is a British charity that connects people to green spaces through practical conservation volunteering. It traces its roots to the Conservation Corps, founded in 1959, and later traded as the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers. It has operated under its current name since 2012.

Volunteers work in parks, community gardens, woodland, sites of special scientific interest, nature reserves, schools and hospital grounds across the UK. This work helps create and maintain a network of protected green spaces. Its mission is to connect people together to protect and restore nature, delivering lasting benefits for both.

TCV aims to protect and restore local environments, empower people to take action for nature, and improve health and wellbeing through nature connection. It also works to develop conservation and green skills among volunteers. It has offices across the UK, including in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
