Peter Tatchell Foundation

Description

The Peter Tatchell Foundation is a UK-based human rights charity working in Britain and internationally. It follows established national and international human rights law and stays independent and non-party political. Its work covers a chosen range of issues, including homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, sexism, racial discrimination, censorship, the death penalty, torture, and denial of asylum to refugees.

The foundation carries out research, education, advice, casework, publicity and advocacy on these issues. It has run campaigns against anti-gay discrimination in football and international sport, and on LGBT rights in Russia, Chechnya, Qatar and West Papua. It also campaigns for LGBT-inclusive relationship and sex education in UK schools.

Alongside its campaigns, the foundation gives direct casework support to individuals, including helping people win asylum and refugee protection on grounds of persecution. It publishes special reports, education materials and annual impact reports on its work. It is a registered charity operating in the UK and internationally.
