Environmental Organizations New Zealand

Description

The New Zealand Institute of Environmental Health, or NZIEH, is a non-profit body promoting best practice in environmental health in New Zealand.

It represents people working in environmental and health protection, with members from local and central government, private industry, the Defence Force, and district and regional health boards. Professional development is its main focus, offered through national and regional meetings, training opportunities and an annual conference open to members and non-members. A representative from NZIEH took part in the committee that produced a national standard on road traffic noise.

NZIEH is governed by a National Executive made up of regional branch representatives, a National Secretary and an elected National President and Vice-President. It was incorporated as a society in 1920 and is a member of the International Federation of Environmental Health. It operates in New Zealand.
