Internet Freedom Foundation
Description
The Internet Freedom Foundation, known as IFF, is a community-funded organization in India working to defend digital rights and civil liberties. It grew out of the SaveTheInternet.in net neutrality campaign. It works to counter web censorship, internet shutdowns, surveillance and the fresh challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
IFF combines public advocacy and digital literacy campaigns with policy engagement. It turns to strategic litigation when advocacy fails. The organization is run by a small staff of organizers, campaigners, designers, lawyers and technologists, supported heavily by volunteers. It is funded through donations from ordinary Indians rather than institutional sources.
It publishes monthly financial disclosures and holds quarterly public calls. It is rated by Guidestar and Credibility Alliance.
