Description

Digital Rights Foundation (DRF) is a female-led, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization based in Lahore, Pakistan. It has worked to provide safe online spaces since 2013. It focuses on information and communication technologies in support of women’s rights, inclusiveness, democratic processes and digital governance.

Its flagship service is a Digital Security Helpline, launched in 2016, alongside a separate Cyber Harassment Helpline. DRF combines capacity-building trainings with direct legal aid for young women and girls facing technology-facilitated gender-based violence.

The organization works on issues of access to technology, digital citizenship, online safety, disinformation and gendered disinformation, and digital literacy. It also addresses the emerging risks that artificial intelligence and generative AI pose to women and children. It runs training workshops for young women, children, female journalists and civil society groups, building capacity in digital safety, mental well-being, legal redress mechanisms, emerging technology and gender sensitization.
