INPRIS, the Institute of Law and Society, is a legal think tank founded in 2009 as a foundation in Poland. Its mission is to bring law closer to science and practical wisdom. It works to improve the quality of law and standards of governance. It pays attention to the legislative process and the institutional development of public administration and the non-governmental sector.

The organization lists ten guiding ideas. These include using scientific research for legal and social progress, and respecting practical wisdom and reasonable judgment in decisions. Another is channelling civic energy toward better law and governance, through monitoring public institutions, preparing recommendations, and taking part in consultations. It combines legal analysis with sociology, economics, psychology and information science.

It uses information technology to improve public debate, lawmaking, legal education and research. It supports empirical legal research and exchanges know-how with other countries. It watches how law is communicated, including infographics and plain language.

It treats legal education as a tool for reforming legal practice, through clinical programs, incubators and simulations. It preserves intellectual and organizational independence from political groups, law firms and businesses. INPRIS states it does not act as a spokesperson for any interest, and expresses its conclusions regardless of who it works with or supports it.
