Tax Justice Network

The Tax Justice Network is an organisation that believes tax and financial systems are among the most powerful tools for building a just society that gives equal weight to the needs of everyone. It works every day to inspire and equip people and governments around the world to reform, or in its own words reprogramme, their tax systems, so they work for everyone rather than a privileged few.

It carries out research and produces reports on tax and financial transparency issues. One example is a brief on beneficial ownership registers. This argues that a widespread “small data” approach, using reporting thresholds, is preventing these registers from being effective. It instead calls for a “no-threshold” approach, in which anyone holding even one share or vote in a company is recognised as a beneficial owner.

It publishes this and other research through reports, a blog and a podcast, and holds events.

The Tax Justice Network is based in Bristol, England, and lists job vacancies for people who want to work with it.
