Human Rights Organizations Belgium

Description

Human Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF) is a non-governmental organization that defends the fundamental rights of all people, regardless of gender, racial or ethnic origin, or language.

Founded in 1988 and based in Brussels, Belgium, it focuses in particular on freedom of religion or belief in European Union countries and beyond. It also works on human rights in the world more broadly, including women’s rights, gender equality and the rights of LGBTQI people.

HRWF monitors and reports on religious persecution and other human rights violations around the world, publishing monthly and bimonthly country digests as well as articles on individual cases. Recent coverage has included the war in Sudan, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and religious persecution in Russia, China and Iran. It advocates before European Union institutions, including the European Parliament, and before international bodies such as the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, where it also organizes conferences and events.
