Whistleblower Organizations France

Description

The Fondation Danielle Mitterrand, operating as France Libertés, was created by Danielle Mitterrand in 1986. It is a non-profit foundation and registered charity that holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

Its mission is to help build a more united world by defending human rights. It focuses in particular on the basic right of universal access to water, and it also defends the commons.

It describes three ways of working. Support means it backs on-the-ground initiatives that bring real solutions and change. Advocacy means it lobbies decision-makers and local, national and international authorities so that human rights are respected. Awareness-raising means it trains, informs and mobilizes citizens.

The foundation is based in Paris and organizes conferences and events.
