Environmental Organizations Germany

Description

BUNDjugend is the independent youth organization of the German environmental group BUND, working for environmental protection and climate justice.

It runs campaigns, projects, events, demonstrations and actions on climate policy, mobility, degrowth, anti-discrimination, agriculture and global health. Each year it organizes activities and projects on nature and environmental protection for children, adolescents and young adults, including holidays, camps and seminars. It is active across all sixteen German states through federal and regional branches and local groups, open to anyone under 27 without requiring membership. It sends representatives into political dialogue with ministers, members of parliament and the government, and takes part in parliamentary evenings in the Bundestag.

The organization is part of the international network Young Friends of the Earth and connects with young people worldwide through it. It was founded in 1984 and is one of Germany’s largest youth environmental associations. It counts tens of thousands of members under the age of 27.
