Amnesty International Luxembourg

Amnesty International Luxembourg is the Luxembourg section of Amnesty International. It is a human rights organization based in Luxembourg City.

It publishes news and press releases on human rights research and campaigns from across the Amnesty International movement. These cover issues such as the criminalization of indigenous land defenders, corporate accountability, migration policy and freedom of expression. One sample article details Amnesty’s advocacy for Wet’suwet’en land defenders convicted in Canada over resistance to a gas pipeline. It is based on the organization’s own research into their arrests and prosecution since 2020.

Locally, the Luxembourg office runs member-facing services organized by department. These include an administrative and financial service, and a fundraising and membership-fee service that also handles tax certificates for donors. There is also a communication and press service that responds to media and interview requests, and an activism service for people who want to get involved with the organization. A human rights education service can be booked for workshops.

As part of the international Amnesty International network, its work is grounded in documented human rights research. This research is used to campaign for the protection of human rights defenders and the rights of affected communities worldwide.
