Young Friends of the Earth
Description
Young Friends of the Earth Europe is a grassroots network of young people and youth organisations working for social and environmental justice at local, national and European level.
It is active in over 20 countries across Europe and was established in 2007 by national youth groups affiliated to member groups of Friends of the Earth Europe. It is part of Friends of the Earth Europe and works in cooperation with Friends of the Earth International, sharing their vision and mission. It is also part of the international Youth Climate Movement.
The network is owned and led by its young members and run mostly by volunteers, with a Steering Group of up to eight elected volunteers coordinating its ongoing work. It organises campaigns and events on climate justice, food and agriculture, and sustainability education, and provides training on applying an intersectional approach to activism. Past activities include bringing youth delegates and demands to United Nations climate negotiations and hosting parallel forums alongside international climate talks.
