Aytzim: Ecological Judaism

Aytzim, also known as Ecological Judaism, is a Jewish environmental organization working at the intersection of Judaism and nature conservation.

It runs several projects: EcoJews of the Bay holds Jewish environmental events in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the Green Zionist Alliance works on environmental issues in Israel and the Middle East. Jewcology is an online resource for the Jewish environmental movement, offering a job board and a map of Jewish environmental initiatives. Jews of the Earth organizes Jews locally and nationally for environmental action, and Shomrei Breishit brings together Jewish clergy, including rabbis and cantors, as an environmental advocacy group.

It also runs an internship program, hosts educational materials, research papers and news on Israel’s environment, supports student chapters, and holds conferences and retreats. It is a grassroots, all-volunteer, U.S.-registered nonprofit charity, formerly known as the Green Zionist Alliance, founded in 2001 and active in the United States, Canada and Israel.
