Description

Wild Farm Alliance is a nonprofit organization that promotes healthy, viable agriculture that helps protect and restore wild nature.

It works to increase biodiversity on farms and ranches by expanding the practice of wild farming, where farms are managed to accommodate native species and ecological processes alongside crops and livestock. It encourages farmers to use practices such as hedgerows, riparian restoration, watershed conservation, and control of invasive species, and promotes native pollinators and predatory insects as an alternative to pesticides. It also promotes private and public conservation incentives that compensate farmers for stewardship, and supports organic farming that also conserves nature on the farm.

Its work includes farmer success stories, an online course program, publications and webinars, a beneficial bird, pest, prey and native plant explorer tool, and a directory of sustainable pest management experts. It brings together farmers, land stewards, agencies, nonprofits, policymakers, scientists and educational institutions through educational meetings and conferences.

The organization was founded in 2000 and is rooted in Watsonville, California, with offices also in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Eugene, Oregon.
