WhistleblowersUK
Description
WhistleblowersUK is a not-for-profit organisation that reinvests its surplus income into providing help, support and information to whistleblowers in the UK. It acts as a voice for change to organisational practices, national policy and the law. It promotes ethical standards of conduct and compliance with the law in the public and private sectors, including through its campaign for a Whistleblowing Bill.
It supports whistleblowers directly with expert, compassionate, practical advice and guidance, encouraging people considering an internal report to talk it over first. It lets people submit reports through its Confide platform.
Because it cannot handle every legal, financial or welfare need, it refers whistleblowers elsewhere. For employment law issues it points to ACAS, the Equality Advisory and Support Service, Rights of Women, Working Families, Citizens Advice, LawWorks, the Pay and Work Rights Helpline and the Community Legal Service. It refers settlement negotiations to Your Employment Settlement Service, and representation to Advocate, the Employment Lawyers Litigants-in-Person Scheme and the Law Societies of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. For mental health and crisis support it points to Mind, CALM, Anxiety UK and Samaritans.
It lists international whistleblowing bodies such as the Whistleblowing International Network, the Government Accountability Project, the Open Democracy Advice Centre, PEER, POGO, PISA, the National Whistleblowers Center and Transparency International Ireland. It is a registered company based in Wells, England.
