Transparency International España

Description

Transparency International España is the Spanish chapter of the global Transparency International movement against corruption. It works in more than 100 countries to prevent corruption by promoting transparency, accountability, integrity and good practice. It is based in Madrid.

The organization publishes the Corruption Perceptions Index and tracks Spain’s ranking each year. It also produces a corporate transparency index that scores Spain’s largest listed companies on integrity, compliance and human rights. It works on public policy, open government, corporate integrity and cross-border corruption.

It runs a program on whistleblower protection, including the Open the Whistle initiative to strengthen legal protection for people who report corruption in Spain. It has proposed a set of recommendations for a national anticorruption strategy. It also addresses how corruption affects young people and women differently, and hosts a corporate integrity forum bringing together anticorruption-minded businesses.

The organization funds its work through memberships and donations, and offers an internship program in several areas of its work.
