Environmental Organizations United States

Description

The Conservation Fund is a nonprofit organization that protects land and water while supporting sustainable local economies.

It moves quickly to safeguard critical habitats and cherished landscapes before they are lost, often bridging the gap for partners who need time to arrange long-term protection. Its services include land acquisition, conservation finance, small green business financing, community and economic development, environmental mitigation and green infrastructure planning. It works with federal and state agencies, land trusts, corporations, foundations and other partners who have identified conservation priorities.

The Fund has protected more than nine million acres across all fifty states, including parks, historic battlefields and working forests, and it has supported projects such as expanding national monuments and state parks. Its work touches climate change, wildlife conservation, working forests and rural communities’ access to fresh food.

The Conservation Fund was founded in 1985. It is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, with offices in states across the United States.
