Release International

Description

Release International is a Christian ministry, based in the UK, that supports Christians around the world who are persecuted for their faith.

It works through local partners in around 30 countries, connecting believers in the UK with suffering Christians and providing spiritual and practical support. This includes help for families of Christian martyrs, prisoners of faith and their families, and Christians suffering oppression, violence or forced displacement. Support takes the form of Bibles for underground churches, training for pastors under pressure, legal aid for prisoners of faith, and care for families left behind.

The ministry raises awareness of persecuted Christians through storytelling, prayer and a magazine called Voice, and invites churches and supporters to pray for and give to those it helps. It was established in 1968, originally as Christian Mission to the Communist World, and traces its inspiration to Romanian pastor Richard Wurmbrand. It took the name Release International in 1992 and now also presents its work under the name Voice of Persecuted Christians.
