Ontario Nature

Description

Ontario Nature is an environmental charity that works to protect wild species and wild spaces in Ontario, Canada.

It pursues this mission through conservation, education and public engagement. It maintains a network of nature reserves and coordinates the Nature Network, uniting conservation groups across the province to identify and act on local issues. It publishes a quarterly magazine, ON Nature, covering environmental topics.

The organization was established in 1931 as the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and took its current name in 2004. It represents thousands of members and supporters and around 150 member groups from across Ontario. It also advocates for the creation and strengthening of parks and other protected areas, and for policies such as re-empowering conservation authorities.
