GoodPlanet Foundation

Description

GoodPlanet Foundation is a French public interest foundation working on ecology and humanism, founded in 2005 by photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

It runs field projects through its United Carbon Action Programme, supporting agriculture, forestry, waste and energy work in dozens of countries, including biogas reservoirs, solar cookers and bioclimatic schools. It raises public awareness through exhibitions, films, a magazine and educational kits for children and schools. It also helps companies and institutions build carbon and responsible food policies, and publishes a code of ethics for its own operations. Since 2017 it has run the Domaine de Longchamp in Paris, a site dedicated to ecology and humanism.

The foundation is governed by a board of directors, a bureau, a scientific committee and an international committee, and is audited yearly, holding the IDEAS Label for its management. It has an affiliated entity, GoodPlanet Belgium, which runs joint educational programmes. It became a recognised public interest foundation in France in 2009.
