Description

Gesellschaft für Freiheitsrechte e.V. (GFF) is a Berlin-based registered association working on fundamental and human rights in Germany. Its motto is “The power of law.” Its slogan is “Gemeinsam für die Grundrechte,” meaning together for fundamental rights. Both point to its role defending constitutional rights, and a menu link called “Wie wir arbeiten” points to “strategische Klagen,” showing that strategic litigation is its method.

GFF is governed by an elected board. It is financed through supporting members, called Fördermitglieder, together with donations and partner organizations. It is entered in the Vereinsregister of the Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg.

It produces a podcast titled “Grundgesetzlich” that examines the constitutional dimension of current political debates.

Its board includes several law professors and legal scholars.
