Description

Emirates Environmental Group is a non-governmental environmental organization based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

It works through education, action programmes and community involvement to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. Its members include students, individuals, families, corporate members, government agencies, universities and schools. It runs waste management and recycling drives, community and corporate engagement programmes, and awareness campaigns such as Clean Up UAE and Green December.

The group was the first environmental NGO in the world to gain ISO 14001 certification. It holds accredited status with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and the United Nations Environment Programme, is a signatory of the UN Global Compact, and is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

Emirates Environmental Group was established in 1991 and is considered one of the leading recycling and environmental organizations in the Middle East.
