Description

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust is a UK charity that works to conserve bumblebees and their habitat.

It was set up because of concern over declining bumblebee populations, and its staff are bumblebee experts who advise on bumblebee science and conservation and help shape UK environment policy. The Trust runs the BeeWalk survey scheme, conservation projects aimed at the rarest UK bumblebee species, education resources for schools, and land management advice for businesses and landowners. It also offers consultancy services and publishes research and position statements on bumblebee conservation.

The Trust was founded in 2006 by Professor Dave Goulson and works across the UK, including England, Scotland and Wales. Its head office is at the University of Stirling in Scotland, with conservation staff based across the UK in areas where the country’s rarest bumblebees occur.
