Australian Youth Climate Coalition

The Australian Youth Climate Coalition, known as AYCC, is Australia’s largest youth-run organisation working on climate change.

Its mission is to build a generation-wide movement of young people to solve the climate crisis by shifting power toward a clean and just future. It educates, inspires and mobilises young people, and runs campaigns aimed at moving Australia’s energy system away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy. Past campaigns have included Power Shift youth summits, Youth Decide national climate votes, and the Stop Adani campaign, which pressured a major bank over funding for the Adani coal mine.

It works with those most affected by climate change and has previously worked closely with the Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network, which became an independent organisation in 2020. AYCC was founded in November 2006 by a coalition of 27 Australian youth organisations, later becoming an independent entity. It is a non-partisan, non-profit organisation.
