No Peace Without Justice

No Peace Without Justice is an international non-profit organisation that works for the protection and promotion of human rights, democracy, the rule of law and international justice.

It was founded by Emma Bonino and Marco Pannella, growing out of a 1993 campaign of the Transnational Radical Party, and was established in 1994. It is a founding and steering committee member of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court and holds special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council. Its mission is to strengthen national, regional and international systems that protect human rights, to promote international justice and accountability for war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and ecocide, to support human rights defenders and local actors, and to fight discrimination and sexual and gender-based violence.

The organisation has worked on the creation of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the negotiation and ratification of the Rome Statute establishing the International Criminal Court, and the Special Court for Sierra Leone. It ran the Stop FGM campaign and helped secure a United Nations resolution calling for a worldwide ban on female genital mutilation. It has also supported democratic transition and transitional justice processes in the Middle East and North Africa, including in Tunisia, Libya, Syria and Bahrain, and campaigns on environmental accountability, including deforestation in the Amazon.
